When it comes to meticulous maintenance, especially for motors that operate continuously, routine upkeep is crucial: During operation, pay close attention to the working environment and avoid excessive vibration or jolting to prevent damage or premature wear. Regular visual inspections are also essential—check whether the fan is functioning properly, look for any abnormal vibrations, verify that coupling connections are secure, ensure the base is firmly bolted down, assess bearing performance by listening for unusual sounds, confirm that temperatures are within normal limits using an infrared thermometer, and verify that current readings are normal with a clamp-on ammeter. For wound-rotor motors, additionally inspect the carbon brushes and slip rings. If any of these aspects show abnormalities, immediate motor repair is required; otherwise, if the situation worsens, you may no longer be able to handle it yourself.
